    For me, happiness is essential to creativity. Depression smothers my desire to create.

    Happiness is key for me too. When I am happy I feel open and free to express whatever I feel. Being happy, I want to ‘make’, ‘do’, ‘create’, ‘be’ which are (to me) action words.

    ‘Depression smothers my desire to create’ – thank you , that is exactly how I feel. Depression, for me, is ‘inaction’ in nature.

    Yet how many blues songs have we heard…that are very creative and moving written by someone who was suffering?

    What inspires one does nothing for someone else.
